Steve Chafatelli | Saxaphone
Steve Chafatelli adds the throathy sound of the saxaphone to the energy and complexity of the newly formed 6th N Main horn section.
“I am thrilled to be part of 6th N Main. The opportunity to play with such talented and dynamic musicians is on that I couldn't pass up. What also makes this so special is that I get to play alongside my son, Michael (trumpet), and daughter, Kristi (saxaphone).”
Steve is a talented and seasoned musician who began playing the saxaphone in 1975. For 6th N Main, Steve plays the soprano, alto, tenor and baritone saxaphones—adding to the overall texture of the band’s sound.
Prior to joining, 6th N Main, Steve played in several local big bands, as well as regional favorites, The Greensboro Big Band and the Starmont Swing Band. He also started and directed the Halifax County Jazz Band.
In additon, Steve has played with various theatre groups in Danville and Pittsylvania County for such shows as The Music Man, Carnival, Grease, Annie, Guys and Dolls, and Chicago.
