With his impeccable time, Bec Crawley, is the consummate drummer. Bec has a musician’s heart with a drummer’s soul, and will tweak out a tempo, a rhythm, a “voice” for the beat.
“We go by the adage, ‘percussion is the external beat of a soul.’ The percussion instruments are the heartbeat of any band, playing not only the rhythm, but the melody and the harmony as well.”
Bec spent the 70’s and 80’s on the west coast and in Colorado playing with top bands for opening acts. He locks into the layers of the songs and produces the rhythms specific to the genre. Disco, Beach, R&B, Country or Rock, each song reads its own genre and moves to its own beat.
“6th N Main, works with everybody moving to same end, just make it tight. It’s not a jam. It’s really executed to be exact. Starts and stops are critical because everyone else, especially vocalists, are depending on them. I just like to play. I just like to play everything.”
